Fine Motor Strengthening/Coordination
There are many ways to work on fine motor skills and strengthening hands to get ready to write and cut. One thing to look for are activities that will require the child to pinch using their thumb and index and middle finger (if necessary due to limited strength). Ideally we want to encourage the child to “tuck in their pinkie and ring fingers” to keep this side of the hand stable while they are pinching.
